Maurice Hawthorne

As a Consultant ENT surgeon, Maurice Hawthorne has worked consistently to provide patient-focused care to a high standard. By embracing the principles of evidence-based practice, he considers all the facts, and reaches an independent view based on his knowledge as a practitioner when instructed as a medico legal expert.

As a committed teacher and trainer, Maurice has helped many clinicians achieve their full potential whilst supporting those who may find their path more challenging.

Clinician’s health and wellbeing is critical to the quality of care they provide. Good working relationships are fundamental in this regard.  As an experienced leader and manager, Maurice has the skills to turn a toxic work place environment into one which is supportive and productive maximising the delivery of good patient care.

Mr Hawthorne has been an active participant in clinical governance initiatives contributing to the improvement of NHS and other services.  Through his work with government, professional and regulatory bodies, he has provided advice to policy makers in healthcare, both nationally and internationally.
